Louise Lysholm serves as prison chaplain at Nyborg Fængsel, one of Denmark's larger prisons, where a core part of the work centers on inmates facing deportation or expulsion — a group that often carries a particularly heavy burden, caught between an uncertain future and limited support networks. Walking alongside these men is one of the aspects of the job Louise cares about most deeply.
That focus feeds into a broader passion: international cooperation with fellow prison chaplains across borders. While it naturally connects to the many foreign inmates Louise meet in daily work, the interest goes further than that — it's about building real relationships and shared understanding across the different prison systems and cultures chaplains in Europe work within.
The prison church at Nyborg is also home to a dedicated group of volunteers, whose hard work and commitment Louise considers one of the real strengths of the ministry there.
On the IPCA board, Louise serves as deputy secretary and webmaster, and lives in Rødovre, Denmark, with her husband.
